how to make/repair a 3 pin XLR to 1/4 inch jack cable?

i have a couple 3 pin XLR to 1/4 inch jack cables were using for mics and rather than than go buy new ones i thought id fix these ones. i open it up and some cables are broken. What im looking for is a drawing or schematic of some kind to see what wires are supposed to be connected. If someone would send me a link or draw me a crude picture it would be much appreciated :)

Is the 1/4″ side TS or TRS?

If it’s TRS, it goes:
XLR pin 1 to Sleeve (you use the shield of the cable for this)
XLR pin 2 to Tip
XLR pin 3 to Ring

If it’s TS, well, an XLR mic is like a transformer (both sides actively driven, neither is or should be connected to ground within the mic), so you want:

XLR pin 1 to cable shield – no connection at 1/4″ end
XLR pin 2 (live) to Tip
XLR pin 3 (return) to sleeve
