String Jazz
how to get a jazz sounding bass?

ok, so i have a LTD B-105(5 string) and i cant seem to get a nice flat smooth sound of a jazz bass. the 5th string gets too much buzz and i relly find it irritating. its my first bass and i cant spend too much money. tell me what strings i should attached to it or amp settings i should try.

If your 5th string is buzzing too much, you may need to have the action (distance between the string and fretboard) adjusted. Also, try flatwound strings instead of roundwounds – upright basses are strung with flatwound strings, so that’ll give you a more “jazzy” sound. Also, on your bass/amp, turn up your bass and treble, but turn your mids down a bit (you may have to play with it a little to figure out what works) – then you should be set =)

Cheers
