what is the best alternative way to clean a guitar fretboard?

my guitar fretboard kind of fretted, and my birthdays coming up, so i need something to clean the grubby stuff off the fretboard.

I always used a little spray furniture polish. made the strings easy to glide over also and protected the wood from moisture and sticky fingers
