Is the Panasonic DMC-TZ7 a good digital camera for recording rock concerts?

I want a camera for christmas as i have alot of concerts coming up and i’m looking for a digital camera that is great at recording concerts with clear picture and great sound quality, the digital cameras i had in the past dissorted the sound and all you can hear is the bass.
i’ve looked on youtube at the tests and this camera looks great but i want to see what you all think?
Do you reccommend others?

There really is no good or bad camera for concerts. It’s apparent you really don’t understand what’s happening.

Any camera, regardless film or digital, automatic or not, requires light to make stills or video.
In low light situations a still camera’s shutter will remain open longer trying to gather enough light to make a photo. While the shutter is open anything that moves in the field of the camera’s view, even the camera, will cause blur.

Video is a different matter. No consumer camera is equipped with a mike that can record the loud music from a concert – the equipment just doesn’t work that way. Recording such high level audio requires high level, high quality equipment that is very expensive.

Regardless of the video or still camera or even a still that does video, you’re going to be disappointed with the audio – it’s a fact of life.

Also don’t discount the copyright issues involved in recording such events. If you’re caught you may be in trouble.
